Brittany Vencill – Owner & Director
Brittany is the 2018 NFHS Kentucky Field Hockey Coach of the Year. She is the current head coach at duPont Manual High School where she just completed her 9th season. She was named the KFHCA Field Hockey Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2011. Brittany led Manual to capture their first State Championship in 2011. Since taking over at Manual she has led her team to 3 state final appearances and 8 state semifinal appearances. Her teams are consistently ranked top 10 regionally and often ranked nationally. Brittany served as an assistant coach at Louisville Collegiate School helping to lead them to back to back state final appearances in 2008 and 2009 before taking over at duPont Manual. She also has 14 years of indoor experience, taking teams to NIT at both the U16 and U19 levels. Her U16 teams have competed at the U19 division on a few occasions, qualifying for NIT, and finishing strong in a U19 pool. Her intensity and enthusiasm for the sport and genuine care for her athletes shows in her team results. Brittany has helped several of our athletes make it at the next level. She has helped develop 9 NFHCA All Region selections at duPont Manual High School and 15 total through Bluegrass. She is very well connected on all levels as she serves on the NFHCA All Region and All American Selection Committees, serves as the Secretary on the KFHCA Board, she has her USA Field Hockey Level 2 Certification, and attends clinics and conferences to network with the collegiate coaches.
Hayley is the All Time leading goal scorer at Centre College and duPont Manual High School. Hayley recently finished a record setting career at Center College where she led her team to the NCAA Elite 8. Hayley was named a team captain, was a NFHCA All American, a three-time NFHCA All Region Selection, a three-time all SAA Conference selection, led the SAA Conference in scoring, and was named SAA Offensive Player of the Year. She has coached several of our teams at the national and regional levels. Hayley also played for duPont Manual where she helped her team win the 2011 State Championship. Hayley played for Bluegrass from 2011-2014.
Elena is a member of USA Field Hockey’s National Team Development Squad. Elena recently finished a very successful Division I career at Northwestern University where she led her team to a NCAA Elite 8 finish. Elena brings high energy, an incredible skill set, and high level strategy to the club. Elena played for Presentation Academy before going onto Ohio University and then transferring to Northwestern University. Elena played for Bluegrass from 2011-2014.
Clare played for duPont Manual High School where she won a State Championship along side Hannah. Clare went on to Wittenberg University to have a very successful Division III collegiate career. Clare became a student coach her senior season after a career ending back injury. Clare brings great knowledge to our staff with her strategic mindset. Clare is currently the head freshman coach at duPont Manual High School. Clare is pursuing a career as a pharmacist. Clare played for Bluegrass from 2011-2013.
Merit is a sophomore at Bellarmine University where she has already made a major impact on the field for the Knights. Merit’s accolades already include ECAC Offensive Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, ECAC 1st Team All Conference selection, ECAC All Tournament Team, and Longstreth/NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week. Merit is a very strong attacking player who brings a strong work ethic and great skills to the coaching staff. Merit played for Ballard High School where she led her team to two KHSAA State Semi-final appearances. Merit played for Bluegrass from 2011-2016.
Hannah played for duPont Manual High School where she won a State Championship. Hannah was a NFHCA All Region selection in high school and went on to have a very successful Division 1 career at Ohio University. Hannah graduated early and came back to Louisville to begin her career in video production. Hannah is the current assistant varsity coach at duPont Manual High School. Hannah works with our top athletes at the U16 and U19 level and travels to all of the major recruiting events with Bluegrass. Hannah played for Bluegrass from 2011-2013.
Monica played for Sacred Heart Academy and is currently finishing nursing school. She has been coaching with Bluegrass for several years and brings high energy and a strong fitness philosophy to the club. She was the head coach at Presentation Academy for two seasons before beginning nursing school. Monica coaches several camps in the summer and travels to various tournaments with Bluegrass.
Lindsay is a sophomore at Bellarmine University where she is off to a great Division II career. Lindsay played for Presentation Academy. Lindsay brings great skills to the forward line. Lindsay travels to several regional events when her schedule allows.
Sadie played for Ballard High School and then Central Michigan University. Sadie is one of the best goal keepers to come out of Kentucky. She has an extreme passion for the game and loves giving back to younger goalies in the area. Sadie had a very successful Division I career and is not pursing a career as a Child Life Coach. Sadie works with our goal keepers through individual lessons, goalie sessions, and regular practice sessions. She brings high energy and a fun style to the club. Sadie played her senior year (2011) for Bluegrass in our first year of business.
Larry is the current JV coach at duPont Manual High School. He has also coached Noe Middle School field hockey for several years bringing a fun yet competitive style of coaching. Larry has a daughter, Jordan Thompson, who is currently playing at the Division 1 level at Hofstra University.
